Your own room

When your Dad and I found out the exciting news that you would be joining our family, we made the decision not to move out of our apartment. We knew it was going to be tough (it was already pretty small for two people but three was gonna be tight!) but wanted to stay in the comfort of a place we knew and to have the support of the wonderful neighbourhood on 23rd Avenue. For a little tiny baby, you came with a lot of stuff! Swing, playmats, crib, change table, high chair and so on. Our “cozy” place quickly became a bit of a challenge. We started looking for a new place around your six month birthday and were getting worried we wouldn’t find the perfect place until……3172 21st Avenue E came along. A whole house on a quiet street, it was too good to be true! We got the place and moved in at the start of July. A big backyard, a basement we will be turning into a playroom for you, a view of the mountains out the front windows, a nice breeze through the house when the windows are open and the best part – a room for you! I had been dreaming of what your little corner of the world would look like as soon as I knew you were growing inside me and now it was a reality. It fills my heart with joy to see you playing with your toys in your very own room! The first night, while rocking you to sleep in the chair, I cried big tears of happiness looking at the scene before me. It was everything I wanted for you and it was perfect.
