Mothers Day

My first Mothers Day with you was more special than I could have hoped for. We had planned our trip to Toronto to coincide with the day so I could celebrate not only with you but with my Mom. We went over to her house for a brunch of pancakes (my request), champagne and peameal bacon. Mmmmmm! You had stayed over the night before with your Nana and it was the first night Daddy and Mommy slept without you. When we left you the night before, I almost ran back to get you – thinking I couldn’t be without you. It was hard but I wanted Nana to have some time with you and maybe get some sleep for myself 🙂 It was the longest I had been away from you and I missed you so much. Driving over to see you, I was filled with so much love for you and gratitude for the beautiful gift that having you has been. As I wrote in my card to my Mom – until I was a Mother, I didn’t know what it was like to feel my heart outside of my body, to have something so small make me feel so important and to now really know how much my mother loved me. This picture was taken that day and I think it sums up love probably more than words can.
